VOLKSWAGEN GROUP COMPONENTS BRAUNSCHWEIG
Environmental protection concerns all of us: The Volkswagen Group and its brands are facing up to the challenges of climate change and are committed to the two-degree target set by the United Nations. As a global provider of vehicles and mobility services, they are aware of their responsibility for environmental and climate protection. That is one of the reasons why Volkswagen is committed to consistently promoting sustainable mobility and to setting an example in protecting our environment.
In the course of this, Volkswagen has created a new environmental mission statement entitled “goTOzero” to provide all employees worldwide with comprehensive information on its objectives and measures and to ensure that compliance with environmental regulations, standards and voluntary commitments becomes the basic prerequisite for all Group activities. “goTOzero” points the way to environmentally friendly and CO2-neutral mobility – and summarizes the Group’s guidelines in the following sentences:
For all of our products and mobility solutions, we strive to minimize environmental impacts throughout the entire life cycle – from raw material extraction to end-of-life – in order to keep ecosystems intact and create a positive impact for society.
Compliance with environmental regulations, standards and voluntary commitments is a fundamental prerequisite for our actions.
Against this backdrop Volkswagen Group Components Braunschweig is participating in the federal research project NERA of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research under the project management of the CUTEC Research Center of the TU Clausthal on the new process for resource-neutral water cycle closure in metal processing using the example of the automotive industry.
